Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of ByeRisk. Please read them carefully — in particular the section titled “Nature of the Service and Important Limitations”, which sets out what our review results do and do not mean.
1. Scope of These Terms
This is the English-language version of our Terms of Service. It applies to the ByeRisk website and web application across all country sites we operate. Where a country site publishes a version in its official language, that version governs for users of that site — see “Language and Local Versions”.
2. About the Service
ByeRisk is a content compliance review platform operated by Hangzhou Runqi Technology Co., Ltd. (杭州润企科技有限公司). It helps sellers and creators find compliance risks in marketing material before they publish it. The service currently provides:
- Rule-based compliance review of text, flagging risky passages and suggesting rewrites;
- Risk-category review of images;
- Video review, including speech-to-text transcription of narration which is then reviewed as text;
- Review history, custom keyword libraries and supporting features.
Available features, rule coverage and supported languages differ between country sites. What a given country site offers is what its product pages describe.
3. Acceptance and Eligibility
By creating an account or using the service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
You must have the legal capacity to enter into a contract under the law that applies to you. If you use the service on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it, and “you” in these Terms means that organisation.
4. Accounts
Registration. An account is created with a mobile number or an email address, or through Google sign-in. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you provide.
Account security. You are responsible for everything done through your account, and for keeping your credentials and verification codes to yourself. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation.
Closing your account. You may close your account at any time from within the product. There is a 30-day grace period during which it can be restored; after that, account data is deleted or anonymised as described in the Privacy Policy. Unused credits are forfeited when the account is closed.
5. Nature of the Service and Important Limitations
A tool, not legal advice. ByeRisk review results are a technical reference. They do not constitute legal advice, a legal opinion, or any guarantee of compliance. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal services. For a legal question, consult a lawyer qualified in your jurisdiction.
No guaranteed outcome. Content that our service marks as passing may still be rejected, throttled or taken down by a platform, and may still lead to legal or regulatory consequences. Conversely, content flagged as risky is not necessarily a violation. The decision to publish is yours, and so are its consequences.
Inherent limitations. You understand and accept the following:
- The rule library reflects regulations and platform policies as they stood when it was written, and necessarily lags behind the latest changes;
- Some assessments use AI models, which produce both false positives (safe content flagged) and false negatives (real risk missed);
- Speech-to-text transcription can be wrong, especially with poor audio, regional accents or mixed languages;
- Image review identifies visual risk categories — it is not designed to read and judge text inside an image.
Final responsibility. You remain the party responsible for the content you publish and for its compliance with applicable law and platform policy.
6. Your Obligations
You agree not to:
- Upload content you have no right to submit, including other people’s personal data without a lawful basis;
- Use the service to develop, test or refine material intended to evade lawful regulation or platform enforcement;
- Attempt to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or to probe, scan or overload our infrastructure;
- Scrape, resell, sublicense or otherwise redistribute the service or its output as a competing product;
- Use automated means to submit volumes of work that materially exceed normal use of your plan;
- Circumvent credit deduction, plan limits or any other technical restriction.
7. Your Content
Ownership. You keep all rights in the content you submit. We claim no ownership of it.
The licence you give us. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit your content solely to provide the service to you — running the review, generating suggested rewrites and showing you your history. The licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for copies retained in routine backups until they expire.
Where it is processed. Providing the service means sending your content to the processors listed in the Privacy Policy, which are located in the People’s Republic of China. Do not submit content you are not permitted to transfer there.
8. Plans, Credits and Payment
Currency. All prices are currently listed and charged in Chinese Yuan (CNY / ¥), through Alipay (Chinese-language interfaces also support WeChat Pay). The amount shown on the pricing page is the amount charged. Your bank or card issuer may add a currency conversion fee, which is outside our control. If local payment channels are added for a country site in future, prices in the local currency will be published at that time.
Plans. A plan runs on the monthly or annual cycle you choose and grants a credit allowance each cycle. Unused plan credits do not carry over — they are reset at the start of the next cycle.
Credits. Credits are an internal unit of use, not a payment instrument. They cannot be withdrawn, transferred or converted back into money. Separately purchased credit packs expire as stated on the purchase page. Credits are deducted when you submit a review; if a review fails because of a fault on our side, the credits are returned to your balance automatically.
Cancellation and refunds. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time and your plan continues to the end of the period you have paid for. Because this is a digital service and credits are consumed immediately, payments are generally non-refundable, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country provides otherwise, or where we are wholly unable to provide the service. Refund requests go through the contact details at the end of these Terms.
Price changes. We may change prices in future. A change does not apply to a plan period you have already paid for.
9. Intellectual Property
The service — its software, interface, rule libraries and documentation — belongs to us and our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. These Terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service; they transfer no ownership. Suggested rewrites generated for your content are yours to use.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by the law that applies to you:
- The service is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its results will be accurate or complete;
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost data, account suspension by a platform, content takedowns, or regulatory penalties;
- Our total liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country.
11. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if your use threatens the security or availability of the service, or if we are required to do so by law. Where circumstances allow, we will give you notice and an opportunity to fix the problem first. You may stop using the service and close your account at any time.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. The updated date at the top always reflects the current version. For changes that materially affect your rights or obligations we will give notice in the product or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the service and close your account.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People’s Republic of China. In the event of a dispute, the parties will first attempt to resolve it amicably within 30 days of written notice. Failing that, the dispute will be submitted to the competent court at the place where the operator is domiciled.
This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually reside, nor of your right to bring proceedings before, or complain to, the consumer dispute body or court that mandatory law makes available to you. Where a country site publishes local-language Terms, that version’s governing law clause applies to users of that site instead of this one.
14. Language and Local Versions
This English version applies to all ByeRisk country sites and is the version referenced from our Google sign-in configuration.
Where we publish these Terms in the official language of a country site — for example the Indonesian version for the Indonesia site — that local-language version governs for users of that country site, because local law requires agreements concluded there to be in the local language. This English version then serves as a translation for reference. For every other country site, this English version governs.
15. Miscellaneous
If a provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or transfer of the business, on notice to you. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about the service.
