Meta, Google & TikTok Ads

Check ad copy against each platform's policy before you submit it

ByeRisk checks headlines, primary text and images for Meta, Google and TikTok Ads, and names the policy behind each finding. We check the creative only: account, landing-page and verification issues follow separate processes.

After you post

Most problems surface after the content is live

By then the penalty has applied, and the notice rarely names the exact sentence.

Limited review requests

On Meta, each ad gets one re-review, and an ad that is rejected again stays rejected. On TikTok, One Click Appeal can be used once per ad group, and the ad group cannot be edited afterwards.

Edits do not clear the record

Editing or deleting a rejected Meta ad does not remove the violation from your account, and severe or repeated violations can lead to advertising restrictions.

Three platforms, three rulebooks

Meta has a personal attributes rule for ad copy, Google enforces editorial rules on punctuation and phone numbers, and TikTok does not allow claims that the product alone, without diet or exercise, leads to weight loss.

Older advice may be out of date

Meta's July 22, 2026 policy update removed the explicit ban on side-by-side weight-loss comparisons. From July 21, 2026, Google no longer takes in-account appeals for policy decisions made more than 6 months earlier.

What we check

Checked against each platform's own policy

FTC and FDA rules apply everywhere. Each platform adds its own policy layer on top.

Meta Ads

Checked against Meta's Personal Attributes and Health and Wellness policies, plus general claim rules.

  • Ad copy check for personal-attribute phrasing, such as a health condition or age aimed at the viewer
  • Body-shaming wording, cure claims for diseases on Meta's list, and weight-loss claims
  • Image check for visual risk: sexual content, drug imagery and prohibited products

Google Ads

Checked against Google's editorial, unreliable-claims and healthcare policies, plus general claim rules.

  • Editorial rules: repeated punctuation, symbols in place of letters, phone numbers in ad text, a generic "Click here"
  • Weight-loss and before-and-after wording, and some substances on Google's unapproved list, such as ephedra and hCG drops
  • Image check for visual risk: sexual content, drug imagery and prohibited products

TikTok Ads

Checked against TikTok's weight-management, body-image, misleading-content and ad-format policies.

  • Weight-loss claims such as "effortless" results or loss without diet or exercise
  • Body-image phrasing such as "perfect body", and "Swipe up" instructions
  • Image check for visual risk: sexual content, drug imagery and prohibited products
How it works

Three steps before you publish

Each finding names its rule, so you can verify it and decide what to change.

  1. 1

    Choose the platform

Select Meta, Google or TikTok Ads and the product category, so the right policy layer and claim rules apply.

  2. 2

    Paste copy or upload images

Check headlines and primary text, or upload ad images for a visual risk check. Each finding names its policy.

  3. 3

    Fix and check again

Use the one-click rewrite, then check the new version before you submit it to the platform.

Scope

What we do not check

A check covers the content you submit. These issues sit outside it.

Account restrictions

Restricted, disabled or suspended ad accounts are reviewed by the platform through a separate process. We cannot lift them.

Landing pages and domains

Platforms review the landing page and can block a domain. We check the creative you submit, not the page it links to.

Verification and payments

Business and advertiser verification, billing and payment issues are account processes outside a content check.

Appeals and reinstatement

We do not file appeals or reinstate ads or accounts. The platform makes the final decision on every review.

Frequently asked questions

If my ad passes the check, will it be approved?

Not necessarily. Platforms also review images, targeting and the landing page, and they make the final decision. A clean result means no rule in our library matched your copy.

Which ad content can I check?

Ad copy, such as headlines, primary text and descriptions, and ad images. Video ads and batch checks are planned for a later stage. Claims written inside images are not read yet, so check overlay text with the text check.

Do you check claim rules as well as platform policies?

Yes. General claim rules drawn from FTC and FDA requirements, for example on weight loss without diet or exercise, guaranteed results and disease claims, run for every platform. Each platform's own policy is added on top.

Can you tell me why my ad was rejected?

We can show which wording in your copy matches a platform policy or claim rule, which is a practical place to start. The platform's rejection notice names the policy it applied, and account, landing-page and verification issues go through the platform's own process.

Does Meta still ban before-and-after images?

Not for general cosmetic products and procedures. The current Health and Wellness policy (version of July 22, 2026) allows those in ads targeted at 18+. The July 2026 update removed the explicit ban on side-by-side weight-loss comparisons, but the policy does not say they are allowed, and close-ups pinching fat are still prohibited.

What does the free tool check?

The free Ad Compliance Checker runs the rule library on pasted text and shows the first three findings. Without an account you get one free check per tool, and the text is not saved. The rule library matches specific phrasings; the full check adds an AI context review for reworded or implied claims, a one-click rewrite and image checks.
