TikTok Shop violation points: how the Account Health Rating works
For US sellers, violation points now mean the Account Health Rating (AHR), a 0–1,000 score that starts at 200 and triggers restrictions at 150, 100, 50 and 0 points. This guide covers the thresholds, how long deductions last, how to earn points back and the appeal deadlines.
Key points
- TikTok Shop's current US policy pages score sellers with the Account Health Rating, a 0–1,000 scale on which every seller starts at 200 points.
- At 150, 100 or 50 points a shop may be blocked from new listings and new mega campaigns for 7, 14 or 28 days, and at 0 points the account may be permanently deactivated.
- Each deducted point returns 180 days after the deduction, and a passed milestone quiz shortens the restriction.
- Sellers get up to 2 appeals per violation: the first within 30 days of the notice, the second within 15 days of a rejection.
- The 12/24/36/48-point scheme that many blogs describe does not appear on any current official US policy page we reviewed.
Violation points and the Account Health Rating
Many guides to TikTok Shop violation points describe thresholds at 12, 24, 36 and 48 points with a 90-day reset. We reviewed the official TikTok Shop policy pages for the United States on October 6, 2026. They describe seller penalties through the Account Health Rating (AHR), and none of them shows the 12/24/36/48 thresholds. This guide follows the current official pages and does not attribute the older figures to TikTok.
The Account Health Rating (AHR) is a color-coded numerical score (from 0-1,000) that provides a snapshot of the overall health of your seller account.
The score reflects points earned and lost over the last 180 days. All sellers start at 200 points. A score of 200 or more is green, 51 to 199 is orange, and 50 or fewer is red.
The AHR is not new. An archived copy of the AHR page dated October 8, 2025 already describes the same 200-point start, the same milestones and the same 180-day reset. We found no official date on which the older points scheme stopped applying, so this guide does not give one.
AHR thresholds and what each one triggers
When the AHR drops to 150, 100, 50 or 0 points, TikTok Shop may take additional actions called milestone enforcement actions. Mega campaigns are large-scale promotional events.
| AHR score | Zone | Milestone action | After passing the milestone quiz |
|---|---|---|---|
| 200 or more | Green | None. The shop is in a healthy state. | Not applicable |
| 150 | Orange (51–199) | The shop may not be able to create new listings or enroll in new mega campaigns for 7 days. | Reduced to 0 days |
| 100 | Orange (51–199) | The same two restrictions for 14 days. | Reduced to 7 days |
| 50 | Red (50 or fewer) | The same two restrictions for 28 days. | Reduced to 14 days |
| 0 | Red | The seller account may be permanently deactivated. | No milestone quiz is available |
TikTok also sends a notice when your AHR is 10 points away from the next milestone. The Shop Performance Score (SPS) is a separate measure, and TikTok states that it does not take enforcement action against a shop for a low SPS.
How many points a violation costs
TikTok does not publish a fixed points table. The deduction depends on the severity and frequency of the violation, and repeated violations cost more.
we may issue you just a warning for the first violation, but we may start deducting an increasing number of points from your second violation onwards.
From August 17, 2026, more violation types can affect the AHR and some violations can deduct more points. According to the Policy Pulse changelog, the tier definitions, enforcement thresholds, 180-day window and appeal process stayed the same.
How long points last and how to earn them back
Every point deducted from your AHR will be reset after 180 days.
Each deduction runs on its own clock. In TikTok's example, 2 points lost on December 30, 2024 return to the score on June 28, 2025. Points you earn expire the same way, 180 days after the date they were earned. The 180-day rule does not apply to points returned after a successful appeal or correction.
TikTok describes two ways to earn points, and a successful appeal or correction returns the points that were deducted:
- Finished orders. 4 points for every 200 finished orders in the last 180 days, up to 20 points per week through this method.
- Policy quizzes. Passing a quiz tagged to a violation adds points. The number depends on the quiz, and you must answer every question correctly.
- Appeals and corrections. When one succeeds, the deducted points are returned.
A milestone quiz works differently. It shortens the milestone restriction, as shown in the table above, rather than adding points. Each milestone quiz has 15 multiple-choice questions and also requires a perfect score.
Appeal and correction deadlines
Appeals and corrections are filed in Seller Center. The Seller Enforcement Policy sets these limits:
| Option | Deadline | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Correction | Within 12–72 hours of the notice, depending on the violation | Available only for some violations that do not carry immediate enforcement. Serious or high-risk violations are not eligible. |
| First appeal | Within 30 days of the notice | Up to 2 appeals per violation. |
| Second appeal | Within 15 days of the first appeal being rejected | Only after a rejected first appeal. |
| Appeal for some violations | Within 12–72 hours of the notice | The exact window depends on the violation. |
You must file your first appeal within 30 days of being notified of the violation.
ByeRisk does not write or file appeals. A content check can help you locate wording that matches a claims rule, so you can fix the listing or video before you correct, appeal or republish.
Which violations come from content, and which do not
The AHR page sorts policy violations into eight groups. Only some of them involve wording:
| AHR violation group | Examples TikTok gives | Can a wording check help? |
|---|---|---|
| Product compliance | Listing prohibited products | In part. Claims can place a product in a prohibited category, such as a supplement marketed for weight loss. |
| Product safety | Product recalls and safety issues | No |
| Listing quality | Miscategorization, incomplete product information | Not for miscategorization or missing details |
| Intellectual property | Trademark or copyright infringement, counterfeits, missing brand authorization | No |
| Fair trading | Fraudulent orders, suspicious transactions | No |
| Fulfillment and after-sale | Order fulfillment issues such as late dispatch | No |
| Account management | Onboarding, account finance, account dormancy | No |
| Customer reviews | Review manipulation, negative reviews | No |
Claims in listings are covered by seller policies. TikTok's Dietary Supplements Requirements, for example, apply their prohibited claims to listing titles, images and descriptions. Claims in short videos and LIVEs are creator violations under the Creator Enforcement Policy and are scored on the creator account's Creator Health Rating.
The AHR groups do not list creator content, and we found no official statement that an affiliate's video violation deducts AHR points. A shop's own Official and Marketing accounts are creator accounts, so in our reading their video claims fall under the creator rules, although an e-commerce ban on one of them can lead TikTok to review the shop.
Fix listing wording before you publish
Listing claims are the part of AHR risk you can address at the writing stage. These rewrites show the pattern for listing copy:
Clinically proven to cure eczema in 7 days.
Moisturizes dry, rough-feeling skin and leaves it feeling soft.
Why: Treating eczema is a disease claim, which TikTok Shop prohibits for products that are not OTC drugs. "Clinically proven" also needs clinical evidence behind it. The rewrite describes what a cosmetic does.
FDA-approved collagen powder.
Collagen powder with 10 g of collagen peptides per scoop.
Why: TikTok Shop prohibits stating or implying FDA approval, and the FDA does not pre-approve structure/function claims for supplements. A factual description of the label is safer.
100% effective, guaranteed results or your money back.
Returns accepted within 30 days. See the return policy for details.
Why: TikTok lists "100% effective" and "Guaranteed results" as absolute language to avoid. State the actual return terms instead of promising results.
Paste a listing, caption or script into the TikTok Shop Claim Checker to see which phrases match a rule. The check covers wording only, and TikTok makes the final decision on every violation.

How long do TikTok Shop violation points last?
For US sellers, each point deducted from the Account Health Rating returns 180 days after the deduction. Points you earn also expire after 180 days. Creator accounts are scored separately, on the Creator Health Rating.
Do TikTok Shop violation points reset every 90 days?
Not for sellers. The current AHR page sets a 180-day reset for each deduction. The 90-day figure often appears in third-party guides to the older points scheme. For creators, the Creator Health Rating details page was unavailable when we reviewed sources on October 6, 2026, so check the current page in TikTok Shop's creator policy center.
How can I reduce my violation points faster?
TikTok describes two ways to earn points: 4 points per 200 finished orders in the last 180 days (up to 20 points a week), and passing policy quizzes tied to a violation. A successful appeal or correction returns the deducted points. A milestone quiz shortens a milestone restriction but does not add points.
What happens when my AHR reaches 0?
The seller account may be permanently deactivated, and no milestone quiz is available at 0 points. TikTok can also deactivate an account at any time for breaches of policies outside the AHR.
How many times can I appeal a violation?
Sellers can file up to 2 appeals per violation: the first within 30 days of the notice and the second within 15 days of the rejection. Some violations have a 12–72 hour window. Creators get 1 appeal per violation, and creator milestone actions cannot be appealed.
Can an affiliate creator's video lower my shop's AHR?
The AHR violation groups do not include creator content, and we found no official statement that an affiliate's video violation deducts AHR points. Creator content violations are scored on the creator's Creator Health Rating. If one of the shop's own bound Official or Marketing accounts receives an e-commerce ban, TikTok may review the shop.
